Ministry of Sound Recordings are proud to present Tim Berg, aka Avicii, a hot new DJ/producer hailing from Stockholm. He only started out in 2008 at the tender age of 18 doing a bedroom remix of the theme tune to Commodore 64 game, ‘Lazy Jones’ and constantly leaked tracks on internet blogs to create the hype.. This led to his first release on Strike Recordings, ‘Lazy Lace’. Berg became captivated and spent almost every waking hour in his studio creating remixes. Interestingly, he decided not to stick to one genre of house music, but to have a broad range of sounds. His influences include the likes of Laidback Luke, Steve Angello and Daft Punk. Avicii’s first big track ‘Manman’, was released on none other than Pete Tong’s label, Bedroom Bedlam after winning Pete Tong’s Fast Trax with 70% of the votes. ‘Bromance’ is set to become a phenomenon with a staggering half a million collective views on YouTube within the space of 3 months!! Support has come from the likes of Pete Tong and Judge Jules on Radio 1 as well as many A list DJs. This is a spine tingling house track from the young Swedish house producer that’s set to become the world’s summer anthem for 2010!

In part two Listening Post’s Meenakshi Ravi takes a look at the man who has been a political heavyweight in the US for over two decades. His influence over the Republican party seems unparallelled and has 20 million Americans regularly hang on his every word. But Rush Limbaugh has never been elected; instead his soapbox is a daily three-hour talk radio show, through which is listened to by a core Republican audience. Big in the Clinton years, Limbaugh has been reborn with the election of Barack Obama. The advent of the internet and regular television appearances have made him a one-man media powerhouse to the point that many Americans see the man behind the microphone as the de-facto leader of the republican party. In this week’s Newsbytes: Rupert Murdoch’s 28% pay cut, the controversial Swedish newspaper article that has Israel banning all Swedish journalists from the country, Zimbabwe’s indecision over who should sit on the country’s Media Commission, two journalists captured in Somalia have now spent a year in captivity, and the YouTube series about 5 British would-be suicide bombers. Finally, Michael Moore is at it again. The American film maker, who took on US gun culture in Bowling for Columbine, the Bush Administration in Fahrenheit 911 and the American health care industry in Sicko has now trained his lens on the corporate giants of Wall Street. The irony starts with the film’s titled Capitalism: A Love Storyand goes on from there. It is not out till October but … Video Rating: 4 / 5

Learn more here: bit.ly Despite being just 8.49mm thick (compared to the iPhone which is 9.3mm), the Galaxy S 2 is very powerful. It features a 1.2GHz Exynos CPU from Samsung, with 1GB of RAM and about 14GB of built-in storage (expandable with a microSD card). The Galaxy S 2 is also quit light at just 116g, but build quality is quite high, and the device doesn’t flex if you try to twist it. The rear camera takes 1080p HD videos and 8MP photos. The front camera can shoot 2MP photos, and cannot record video (due to a limitation in the software). In terms of radios, the Galaxy S 2 is quadband UMTS and GSM (giving you 850/900/1900/2100, which are the right bands to get 3G in Europe or on AT&T in the US), plus packs Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n, FM Radio, and DLNA support.

Here’s a tricopter which has been equipped for FPV flight although, due to a few issues on the day, wasn’t flown by FPV in this video. This makes a great aerial camera platform and the plans are available on the internet. Does this really qualify as an RC plane?
